The Studio
When Tyler was in diapers, his dad was making sawdust in the garage building furniture for their home. So much so, his dog was aptly named "Dusty". They needed a dining table, so his dad built one. Tyler and his brother wanted bunk beds, so he figured out how to make those too.
As Tyler grew older, he too started making furniture out of necessity. He needed a dining table, so his dad helped him make one. When Tyler and his wife, Katie, bought their house, they had rooms to fill, so Tyler made a coffee table, their bed frame, night stands and more. With every project grew a love for making things by hand, an appreciation for good design and craftsmanship, and the satisfaction of knowing that what was made would be cherished for years to come.
It was from that place "Vollick House" was born.
Today, we couldn't be happier making sawdust with our pup, memories with our family, and furniture for our home and yours.

We are very excited to be in our first year of production as "Vollick House".
Our current objective is to build a robust portfolio of furniture designs that we are proud to stand behind and would be happy to make over and over again. Each piece we make is thoughtfully designed and thoroughly documented. Doing so allows us to be more efficient making subsequent pieces, with the goal of keeping prices fair.
With this business model, we do not think of ourselves as a custom furniture shop, nor are we trying to become a mass-production operation. Rather, we are trying to find the middle ground — selling high-quality, made-to-order furniture direct to consumer at a fair price.
Someday we hope to grow enough to build a small team, with the hopes of working with other passionate craftsmen and bringing a few more jobs to Wyoming.

Whether it's a piece we've made before or something new to add to our collection, we're always open to a conversation. If you're interested in one of our existing designs, we will work with you in order to select the right wood and finish and customize any dimensions. On the other hand, if you have an idea for a new design, we'd love to talk. When creating new designs, we include you in the design process and treat you as a collaborator. Our main goal is to design something we would be happy to make again.

Even if you're not interested in a piece right now but find yourself in Lander, Wyoming, we'd love to meet you over coffee or at the shop. One of our favorite parts of making furniture is the connection we feel with those who have one of our pieces in their homes. Customer or not, we love feeling connected to those in our community as well as those passing through.

If you know someone looking for furniture, please consider telling them about us. Starting a small business is tough, and we are not too prideful to ask for help. By working with us, you are not only supporting our local business but also one of a few quality mills in Wyoming.
